OMISSION
“In those days, while Mordecai sat in the Kings gate, two of the King’s chamberlains, Bigtham and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth and sought to lay hands on the King Ahasuerus. And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the Queen; and Esther certified the King thereof in Mordecai’s name.
And when inquisition was
made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a
tree; and it was written in the book of the Chronicles of the King.
After these things did the
King Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced
him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.”
Esther 2:21 –
23, 3:1 (KJV).
Now wait a minute. Was it
not Mordecai that just saved the King’s life? And what does he get in return.
NOTHING! Yes, nothing. Rather than acknowledge, appreciate, honour or reward
him, it was another person entirely that was acknowledged, appreciated,
honoured, rewarded and PROMOTED. This fellow has done nothing of real and true
value for the King or the Kingdom. What he brought to the table was being adept
at Palace manipulative politics and a master of subterfuge and intrigues. In
reality, he was a threat to the King and his Kingdom. But the King did not know
that, so he promoted him and “set his seat above all the princes that were with
him”. As for the man who saved the
King’s life, nothing, he can as well go and hang seems to be the attitude here.
Poor Mordecai, modern day
Pentecostal demonologist would have concluded that he was a victim of satanic
operations and oppressions. In my country Nigeria where you have a new breed of
hyper-demonologists, they will summon a deliverance session for him from
ancestral spirits, demons, bondage, covenants from his paternal and maternal
ancestors. Their battle cry will be, how can you save the King’s life and you
were not even acknowledged. Rather your reward was given to another. It is not
ordinary, your enemies are at work. They will coin a name for this phenomenon.
Perhaps, they will call it “spirit of exchange of rewards and
breakthrough”. The next phase of their
prognosis and treatment will be loud chants of “fall down and die” to the
assumed demons at work.
But hold it for a moment.
What has just happened to Mordecai is what I like to call an act of DIVINE OMISSION! Pure and simple. There
is no Satan here. It is divinity that is at work, unfolding his own divine
agenda, mindful of his own divine timing. Never forget that “He makes all
things beautiful in HIS TIME”
Ecclesiastes 3:11.
In heaven’s Calendar, it
was not yet time for Mordecai’s elevation. If he had been elevated now, it would
have been premature and it would never have had the profound effect God wanted
his elevated to have on his life and whole race. You see, it was not just about
Mordecai, but about a whole race – the Jewish race whose destiny was tied to
Mordecai’s at this point in time and history.
So Baba (father) God
orchestrates a divine omission! Mordecai was omitted for a well deserved
appreciation, reward and elevation. It was premature as far as the total agenda
of God for him and his race was concerned. A divine delay was necessary to
fulfill divine purpose and divine timing. Mordecai
was not forgotten forever. He was forgotten temporarily for his good and the
good of his people. Hold your breath, let’s see what happens next!
